Several times a year, we offer basic obedience classes that cover dog attention, heeling, sitting, staying, and coming on command. Classes are held at our facility
on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m., with a limit of 12 dogs per session. Pre-registration and payment are required.
Advanced obedience training is available for those wishing to enter their dogs in obedience competitions at dog shows. We only use balanced training methods in our classes. Our trainer, Cathy Bricker, is a retired Pennsylvania humane agent, obedience trainer, and has competed in competitions for many years.
This is a drop-in class that takes place on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. No pre-registration is required; you just sign in and pay at the door.
We also offer private in home consultations on household behavior problems and issues.
Please call, 412-678-7374
to schedule an appointment with Cathy.
For dog show training, we offer conformation and handling classes for the experienced or novice dog show exhibitor. Classes cover the ins and outs of showing your dog at AKC dog shows. They are run to simulate an actual dog show, which teaches you how to effectively compete in AKC licensed events with your dog. Nancy Dinkfelt, a former professional handler and AKC judge, instructs our dog show training classes.
This is a drop-in class as well. No pre-registration is required, so you can just sign in and pay at the door. Summer classes are available from April–October on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Winter classes take place from November–March on Sunday afternoons at 12:30 p.m.
